CONNECTS‑UK brings together nine European‑researcher associations based in the UK to deliver a coordinated, well‑governed programme of activity. Our governance model ensures transparency, shared decision‑making, and accountable management across all partners.
The project structure is supported by a dedicated project team, including coordination, management, research, and communications roles, who facilitate planning and reporting. The project is overseen by the Action Coordination Board (ACB), which serves as the central governing and decision‑making body. CONNECTS‑UK also benefits from contributions by invited observers representing other EU researcher associations, ensuring broader sectoral engagement.

Action Coordination Board (ACB)
The Action Coordination Board is the main decision‑making body of CONNECTS‑UK. It provides strategic direction, oversees delivery, monitors progress, and ensures the project achieves its objectives.
Who sits on the ACB?
Each partner association appoints representatives to the ACB:
- AISUK (Italy)
- DANinUK (The Netherlands)
- Native Scientists
- PARSUK (Portugal)
- Polonium Foundation (Poland)
- SRUK/CERU (Spain)
Each organisation names a Single Point of Contact and may appoint additional members. Collectively, the ACB members bring expertise in project management, research policy, community engagement, and financial oversight.
Management Team: Chairing and coordination
The Board is chaired by SRUK/CERU which:
- leads meetings
- ensures effective governance
- represents the project externally
- liaises with project staff and the European Commission
Project staff (Secretariat) attend ACB meetings (without voting rights) to support coordination and reporting, including the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Policy & Research Analyst, and Communications & Events Officer.
Observers
Other EU researcher associations and partners may be invited as non‑voting observers, contributing their expertise to discussions. The observers are:
- Finnish Science Society in the United Kingdom (Finland)
- FERN (France)
- VTIS (Slovenia)
The Delivery Team
The members of the different associations are highly skilled researchers, academics and professional bodies with extensive experience in carrying out the activities in the action plan, as well as a deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that Brexit has posed for the European research ecosystem and the EU diaspora in the UK.
