Stakeholder map: The CONNECTS-UK platform and its organisational network
This map provides an overview of the organisational ecosystem surrounding CONNECTS-UK, a platform that brings together the EU research diaspora in the UK to strengthen cooperation between the UK and the EU in science, policy, and diplomacy. At the centre of the map is CONNECTS-UK itself, positioned as a bridge between UK and EU institutions and communities.
- Organisations on the map are grouped in two main geographic clusters:
UK organisations, which include UK government departments, UK universities, UK scientific academies, UK NGOs, and UK science, research, and culture institutions.
EU organisations, which include EU diplomatic missions in the UK, EU government bodies, EU NGOs, EU thematic networks, and EU Member States’ science, research, and culture institutions.
- In addition, the map highlights EU research diasporas in the UK, which account for:
The research diasporas organisations currently contributing to the management and delivery of CONNECTS-UK, including the organisations from Italy, Spain, Finland, France, Portugal, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Poland, and the NGO Native Scientists, which are formally part of the CONNECTS-UK platform.
The supported research diaspora organisations from other EU countries, which have been receiving support and engagement from the CONNECTS-UK action.
- Each organisation is also categorised by its type of involvement in the action. These categories are colour-coded on the map and include:
Funders and sponsors, which are organisations that have provided financial support to CONNECTS-UK and have made the action and its activities possible.
Co-organisers, collaborators, and hosts, which are organisations that have co-organised events, collaborated on activities, or hosted CONNECTS-UK events, including universities and other institutional partners.
Enablers and keynote speakers, which are organisations that have supported the visibility of CONNECTS-UK by sharing its work and promoting its activities, or are affiliated with keynote speakers who have participated in CONNECTS-UK events.
Attendees, which are organisations to which high-level attendees of CONNECTS-UK’s events are affiliated, demonstrating the platform’s extensive reach across sectors and borders.
Together, these categories reflect the wide network and diverse relationships that CONNECTS-UK has cultivated to advance its mission of enhancing EU-UK scientific and diplomatic cooperation through the engagement of the EU research diaspora in the UK.
