CONNECTS-UK 3rd Open Forum:

“Emerging challenges and solutions in healthcare”

Emerging challenges and solutions in healthcare are at the forefront of scientific and public discussions. How can we better collaborate to prevent diseases? What role do lifestyle interventions play in improving health outcomes? How can scientific advancements contribute to more effective treatments and prevention strategies?

We are excited to invite you to the 3rd Open Forum on Emerging Challenges and Solutions in Healthcare on the 10th of April in Bristol; this interactive hybrid event, bringing together leading researchers from across Europe and the UK, delivered for an expert and non-expert audience.

The event will feature two expert panels, a roundtable discussion, and a competition for posters and videos, all aimed at fostering dialogue and exploring key issues shaping the future of healthcare.

Discussions will highlight:

  • The role of collaborations and partnerships in addressing healthcare challenges.
  • The societal impact of research and the importance of trust in science.
  • Strategies for identifying and tackling emerging healthcare issues.

Programme Highlights (complete agenda below)

Panel 1: Science & Healthcare Challenges
Experts will discuss breakthroughs in cancer, cardiovascular health, computational biology, and infectious diseases in developing countries.

Panel 2: Society & Trust in Science
This session will explore past, current and future challenges on health economics, synthetic human biology, vaccine misinformation, and immunology.

Roundtable: Working together to tackle global health challenges
A multidisciplinary discussion on uniting stakeholders (researchers, clinicians, patients, innovators and policymakers) to identify challenges and design strategies to translate efforts into tangible benefits for patients and societal change.

Special opportunities:

  • During registration, you can sign up for a free networking lunch which will be offered at 13:00.
  • For those travelling to Bristol, we offer travel reimbursements of up to £80 per person (limited availability on a first-come, first-served basis). Please keep your travel receipts for claiming the reimbursement.

This event is the third in a series of six Open Fora that will be held across the UK.
